“Mornings at the Museum” is a learning experience for third graders in which historical characters come to life, all played by local folks: President Andrew Johnson, Davy Crockett, Civil War soldiers, and Aunt Minerva as she hums a spiritual and talks about her ancestors and their paths from slavery to freedom. The day is made possible by volunteer efforts of dozens in the community.
