East Tennessee native and best-selling author Amy Greene will deliver the annual Wilma Dykeman Stokely Memorial Lecture. Greene is the author of Long Man and Bloodroot, both set regionally. The Atlantic Constitution describes her writing as “Luminous . . . . In language as unadorned and lovely as a country quilt, Greene invites the reader deeply into the seclusion of the valley and the mountains above. A remarkable love letter to a forgotten time and place.” Program will take place at the East Tennessee History Center at 7:00 p.m. Free and open to the public.
The event is sponsored by the Library Society of the University of Tennessee, the Friends of the Knox County Public Library, and the East Tennessee Historical Society.
