Marvin (Marv) House is CEO and chairman of Merit Construction, Inc., and CEO and founder of Professional Construction Consulting, Inc. With 40 years of experience in the construction industry, he holds a contractor’s license in six states and is licensed as an engineer in 14 states.  He holds a bachelor of science degree in construction supervision from Purdue University and a masters degree in business administration from Goddard College and is active in a number of professional organizations, including the National Association of General Contractors Risk Management Surety Bonding Committee, AGC Consulting Contractors Council, a former trustee of the AGC Comp Trust of Tennessee, and the past chairman of the National AGC Surety Bond Committee.

Marv served as the East Tennessee Historical Society president for 2013-2014 and is active in a number of other organizations, including the Grainger County Historical Society, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity, Appalachian Service Project, Knoxville Legacy Parks Foundation, Children’s Center of Knoxville, and Goddard College.

An avid outdoorsman, Marv enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and fishing. He and his wife, Janie, make their home in a renovated historic grist mill in Grainger County.
