Clarence Brown Theatre / University of Tennessee, Knox County

2014 Award of Distinction

In early 2014, the Clarence Brown Theatre hosted a very successful and impactful production of The Whipping Man.  The sellout play, set in the post-Civil War period, sparked a heightened interest in history and led to discussions, a scholarly lecture, and new community partnerships.  Present to receive this award were John Sipes, Calvin MacLean and Brooks Clark.
