Community History Award
The Abraham Lincoln Library & Museum received two Awards of Distinction:
- “Of the People, By the People, For the People” was a discussion series on modern citizenship, explored through the words of Abraham Lincoln. Open to county residents and students, the series sought to forge common connections and continues to be used in classrooms and by citizens and community groups.
- Two additional programs, “Inside the Vault” and “Mystery Skype in the Classroom,” provide tours that allow ALLM to reach beyond its rural setting to share the history of Abraham Lincoln and Civil War East Tennessee with classrooms as far away as New York, California, and around the globe.
